Project Overview:

For this unique project, Astro collaborated with an out-of-state contractor who entrusted us with fabricating custom fireplace panels and hearth components for a high-end residential space in Miami, Florida. The request involved creating metal elements from Muntz brass, a material known for its striking golden tones and resilience. The goal was to create a refined, timeless design that would add aesthetic value and durability to the fireplace area.

From the outset, the project was a bit different from the majority of our workl. Instead of handling the metals scope from field measuring all the way through to installation, the contractor handled the initial field measurements and coordinated the details on-site. Our team at Astro then took the contractor’s measurements and transformed them into high-quality, precisely crafted metal panels and a custom hearth. The process included selecting the right materials, applying an antique brass finish, and ensuring all parts were ready for seamless installation upon arrival at the Miami site.

Key Elements of the Project:

1. Custom Fireplace Panels and Hearth

The heart of this project was creating the fireplace panels and hearth, which would serve as a focal point in the home’s interior. We fabricated the panels and hearth from .063” Muntz brass, a high-performance alloy that combines copper and zinc for a unique appearance.
